Community Guidelines
Last updated August 24, 2026
Speakeazy is a real-world app. Every venue chatroom is a room you are physically standing in, with real people whose identities we've verified. That is a rare thing on the internet, and we intend to keep it that way.
These Guidelines describe what is and is not allowed on Speakeazy. They apply to every chatroom, every direct message, every profile, and every piece of media you share. If you break them, we will remove content, suspend your account, or permanently ban you — depending on severity and history.
1. What's not allowed
Harassment, hate, and threats
- No targeted harassment, bullying, or personal attacks.
- No hate speech or slurs based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious medical condition.
- No threats of violence, doxxing, or intimidation.
Sexual content and nudity
- No sexually explicit content, no nudity, no sexual solicitation.
- Speakeazy is not a hookup app. Use it to actually meet people in the room you're standing in.
Minors
- You must be at least 21 to use Speakeazy. If you are under 21, do not create an account.
- Any content that sexualizes minors will result in an immediate permanent ban and, where applicable, a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
Violence, self-harm, and dangerous acts
- No graphic violence or gore.
- No content that promotes suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
- No content that promotes dangerous illegal activity that could lead to real harm.
Illegal content
- No selling, buying, or promoting illegal drugs, weapons, or stolen property.
- No content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other IP.
- No non-consensual intimate imagery, ever.
Impersonation and identity
- Use your real name, or a name you go by in real life. No aliases intended to hide your identity.
- Do not impersonate other people, brands, or public figures.
- Do not create fake accounts, catfish accounts, or bot accounts.
Spam, scams, and manipulation
- No mass-messaging, chain messages, or link-spam.
- No scams, phishing, MLM/pyramid schemes, or misleading crypto/NFT promotions.
- No off-platform promotion of other social apps, dating apps, or paid services (this is not a promotional channel for your OnlyFans).
- No location spoofing. Do not use GPS-mocking tools to enter a venue chatroom you are not physically inside.
- No coordinated ratings manipulation (asking friends to rate you Real Deal without genuine interaction).
Privacy of others
- Do not share other people's personal information without consent: full names, phone numbers, addresses, workplaces, or private conversations.
- Do not photograph or record someone in a way they wouldn't consent to.
2. What we ask you to do
- Show up. Rate people Real Deal when they add to the room. That's how the reputation system works.
- Be honest. Real name, real photo, real DOB. The room works because people are who they say they are.
- Report abuse. If something crosses a line, use Report so we see it. Reports go into a queue reviewed by our team, not into a black hole.
- Block freely. If someone bothers you, blocking hides them from your rosters and prevents them from viewing your profile. It is a normal, healthy use of the app.
3. How we enforce
We use a combination of user reports, automated signals, and human review. Our full moderation process — prevention, detection, response, and appeal — is documented in our Trust & Safety page. When something is reported, we take one of these actions:
- No action — the content or behavior does not violate these Guidelines.
- Content removal — the specific message, photo, or profile element is deleted.
- Warning — for a first-time minor violation, we may notify the user and remove the content.
- Temporary suspension — for repeated or moderate violations, we suspend the account for a defined period.
- Permanent ban — for severe violations (harassment campaigns, threats, sexual content involving minors, coordinated fraud), for repeat offenses, or for attempts to evade a prior suspension.
Bans are enforced at the account level and, where necessary, at the device level. Attempting to create a new account after a ban is itself a violation.
4. Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal a moderation action by emailing appeals@speakeazysocial.com with the affected account's email address and a short explanation. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
